We’ve made several changes to simplify and polish the Ability Variant system
All negative effects have been removed from Ability Variants: This update allows players to choose distinct aspects of an ability they want to improve, to help better fit their playstyle. All Ability Variants now only apply positive effects to help improve the effectiveness of abilities in specific ways. Which variant you choose to use is up to you and how you want to play each Hunter!
Positive Effect added to all Core Ability Variants: With the removal of negative effects from all Ability Variants it would create a scenario where the Core Ability Variant becomes underpowered. We have added a positive effect to all Core Ability Variants that are unlocked from the start for each Hunter. The Core Ability Variants are equal in power (utility or strength) when compared to the additional Variants. Every Ability Variant, regardless of where they are unlocked in the Hunter Fame track, will provide a tactical advantage to the player depending on their playstyle.
All Ability Variants have been rebalanced to better suit the new system: All Variants, including the Core Variant, for a specific ability should be equal in either utility or strength. We will continually update the balance of Ability Variants over future releases to ensure each Variant has a place in the meta and can help improve players specific playstyles.
For this update we’ve made a number of gameplay changes aimed to improve overall quality of life
Bot Backfill: To help minimize unbalanced matches, a bot will automatically replace players that fail to connect to a match or when a Player is disconnected from the server during the matchmaking process. Please Note: It takes 60 seconds for a player to be fully disconnected from a server.
Ranged Combat Improvements: Increased blaster speeds so that Hunters with blasters will find it easier to aim at distant moving targets.
Camera Changes: The game’s cameras have been adjusted to bring the Hunter’s weapons closer to the crosshair, giving a more intuitive view.
Jump Improvements: Jump animations have been added to more Hunters and maps have been adjusted to improve using Jump. In addition, many visual improvements were made to jump animations.
Jump Fatigue: When a Hunter jumps repeatedly, their jump height and forward momentum will gradually be reduced, to reduce the effectiveness of "bunny hopping."
Escort Improvements: To improve the balance of this mode, the speed at which the Payload is pushed backwards by the defending squad has been reduced by 35%.
In-Match Tips: We now provide In-Match tips for new players to teach them how to play the game. At the start of matches, large tips will appear with game details including basic controls, game mode rules, Hunter Abilities, and more. There is an option to enable and disable these tips in Settings, under the Controls tab.
Tutorial Improvements: We've also added In-Match Tips and Controls visuals to the Tutorial level, to help streamline how new players learn to play the game.
Matchup Mode Renamed and Tuned: The game mode previously called Matchup Mayhem has been renamed to Matchup Mixup. The mode is the same, the name has changed! We also re-tuned the Hunter assignment odds so players will more often be able to play with Hunters they haven't recruited yet.
The Battle Pass is now known as the Arena Pass. We’ve added new challenges to earn Arena Pass XP as well as the ability to skip Arena Pass levels with Crystals.
We’re adding even more cosmetics to be unlocked! This includes 4 new avatars, 14 new costumes, 6 new intro animations, 10 new victory poses and 14 new weapon wraps.
Reset timers for weekly and daily challenges are being slightly adjusted
Hunter Bios added in the Hunter Roster, which provide a background introduction to each character
Improved interface for clarity between Cosmetics and the Hunters they are for
Improved interface regarding Player XP; including an info panel added to the player reward track and the amount of Player XP earned upon leveling up a Hunter displayed after a match

Added language support for Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Turkish
Improved audio including sound effects, voice over and game mix balancing
